Beautiful dog breed, the Cocker Spaniel has a silky coat and long ears that hang. The head is round and the muzzle is wide with a deep and broad square jaw. The eyes are slightly oval and they look straightforward. The Merle Cocker Spaniel can have blue eyes. The teeth are quite strong and the nose is black on black dogs, but may be brown sometimes also. The coat has black, merle, buff, or black-and-tan color and the tail is carried on a line with its back. The legs are straight and the dewclaws on rear and front legs should be removed. This dog breed can live up to 12 or sometimes even 15 years.

Other problems include: cataracts, glaucoma and patellar luxation. Also, this dog breed can develop IMHA (Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia), which is quite common in cockers and almost all the time deadly.
