One of the most known dog breeds is the German Shepherd Dog, also known as the Alsatian. This very strong dog has beautiful eyes, is well proportioned and has a great temperament.

The fur colors are sable or black, but also black with tan. These are the standard colors. Other deviations may appear but they are considered faults. White must not appear on the coat of the German Shepherd. A separate breed exists, the American White Shepherd with a white coat.
