Siberian Husky Dogs
The Siberian Husky is one of the most beautiful dog breeds. The Husky is a strong, working dog. He is famous for the face markings and the beautiful eyes.
The coat colors go from black to pure white. Most of the Siberian Huskies have black and white fur and a variety of markings on the head. Other combinations of colors include peach, orange, chocolate, brown, silver, wolf-gray, sable and white. Most of the times the face mask is white and also the underbody.
Another interesting aspect is that not Siberians have blue eyes. Sometimes they have brown or amber eyes. Also, some dogs can even have half blue and half brown eyes. This means they are parti-eyed. And if they have one brown eye and one blue, the dog is bi-eyed. The ears are erect and quite high.
Another characteristic is the hair between the toes. That hair helps them walk on the ice. Because this dog breed is common in the lower temperature areas, the coat is thick and wooly. The Siberian Husky can stand very low temperatures like -58 degrees to -76 degrees F ( -50 degrees to -60 degrees C).
The standard measurements are: 21-23½ inches (53-60cm.) in height for males and 20-22 inches (51-56cm.) for females. The weight is: 45-60 pounds (20½-27kg.) for dogs and 35-50 pounds (16-22½kg.) for females.
This dog breed is gentle and playful. They are very clever and sociable. Because they are quite easy to train, they are recommended for children. Usually, they have a lot of energy and love to play. They are not recommended for house guard because they don’t bark very often and they love everybody.
Just like any other dog, it is good to train the Husky while he is little so that he doesn’t develop a mind of his own and have a bad behavior. Because the Siberian Husky loves to run, he is a good jogging companion.
